the Jongmans

Look out its Firearm Friday already!

This week we are showcasing the Jongmans model 88 .50BMG

First of all it weighs 13kgs and 1.6kgs of that is just the bolt!

John Jongmans was the designer/builder but it was Allen Murray who made the stocks for them. It has a 2 shot magazine which is unique as they more commonly were single shots. They were built in QLD; the purpose was for long range accuracy shooting in target and in hunting. Even though this gun has Queensland roots it is an ‘R’ category rifle in this state, so basically outlawed, but ironically in other states it is lawful.
